It is hard to believe that it's been ten years since I began this journey. I remembered recently how jubilant I was, and the sheer exhilaration I felt opening my wedding planning business. I stumbled into the industry by chance, upon being asked to help a coworker with her big day. My passion for weddings was instant, and I spent time around the country working with some amazing planners in my attempts to prepare myself for every scenario, to know all the tricks of the trade, and to glean the most information possible to be a good planner. In the years since, I have tried to be as gracious and generous to new industry folks as they were to me. Each year, there have been successes and mistakes, and every time I've thought I'd made my last mistake or seen the most surprising moment, the next year has brought it's own version(s) of each. For anyone new to the industry, be kind to yourself and open to learning. Be humble enough to learn from your journey and grow.

Over the years there have been so many wonderful people who have touched my life, who have helped shape me and taught me lessons that I will carry always. I have had the good fortune of working with some of the industry's finest partners, traveled to stunning locations, tasted sumptuous foods, collaborated with stellar chefs, touched exceptional fabrics, worked with brilliant designers... I have been blessed beyond measure. Every wedding was special, had its own challenges and rewards, and introduced me to greater understanding of myself, and people in general. There are so many events that I am proud of, those that will always bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart. There are images that bring such a rush of emotion and the memories... well, let's just say that there's rarely been a dull moment over the years. I've had the good fortune of having people on my team who have knocked my socks off, crafted wonderful contributions and who have left their signature on my heart.

Today is the one year anniversary of Amy and Michael's wedding day, our Military Dream Wedding 2010 winners. They are one of the most amazing couples I have ever met, and continue to give me reason to aspire to greater things, give more, be a better person. Amy is an Army veteran, dental student and active Army wife and Michael is currently serving his second tour in the Middle East. They quickly became friends, and I pray we always are. I find it fitting, on this day, with memories rich in joy and laughter, hope and love that I share the news of my retirement.

I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel. There are no words to thank all of the people who have made my career so rich, the men and women who have brought me so much joy. I have made some of my best friends in the past ten years. The Lord has provided more blessings than I feel worthy. Through the years I have remembered that there are no accidents in life. We are all on the path we are meant for... we just have to pay attention so we don't miss a sign. ;) Life is pregnant with opportunity; make sure you are aware of the richness in your life... you never know when your next best decade will begin.

Beano's Cabin

I had the great pleasure of spending an evening at Beano's Cabin with the fabulous Jenifer Hammond, of Beaver Creek Resorts. An invitation that I've been working to accept for some time {our schedules have been opposed for months}, it was well worth the wait!

We had a fabulous five course dinner from the acclaimed Chef Steve Topple, including a dreamy Yellow Tomato Gazpacho, the best Seared Rabbit I've ever eaten and Grilled Lamb that had Jenifer reconsidering a longstanding impression. The Halibut with Green Onion Quinoa was exceptional and the Smoked Trout was 'smack your mama' good. This Chef, who is clearly not Southern, certainly has soul. Chef Topple's passion transcends the kitchen. The service staff is not only educated, but equally infected by Chef's affection for the menu and providing an unforgettable dining experience.

Beano's Cabin is a prime illustration of the quality vs. quantity struggle planners & brides sometimes run into. While Beano's can be made to accommodate more than 200 guests, it shines with a guest list under 150. With the gorgeous and elegant mountain interior, the beautiful deck and the pristine surroundings, in tandem with a first class cooked to order menu, impressive wine list and world class service, it is one of Colorado's finest wedding options.

I wish I were better at blogging. I start each year with great intentions and then never have/make the time to get on here and chatter. However, as my 2011 season is winding down and I am getting images back from our uber fabulous photo booths, I am compelled to share some images with you.

We offer our clients a custom photo booth because, well, it's fun. It's not an added cost to them, or a money maker for us, it's just fun. And sometimes, working with your clients gets tedious and you have to remember to have FUN. After ten years in business, we are focused on the fun more than ever. Here we are...

I am always on the hunt for fun clothes. Dresses, in particular, are a favorite. I'd rather wear a dress than anything else. They are so much fun, and allow you to feel dressed up even if you really aren't. I was recently introduced to a great hidden gem... ModCloth.com. If you aren't familiar, you should be! They are a fabulous little company making a big name for themselves.

Run by husband and wife team, Eric Koger and Susan Gregg Koger, Mod Cloth offers fun and flirty styles at jaw dropping prices. I'm not sure how they manage to be hip, trendy and classic all at one, but they do it with such ease. They also have this great program, called Be The Buyer that allows you and me to help choose what stays and what goes! I'm in love with their collections.

All of my brides are already checking out their site for sassy engagement party dresses, unique shower outfits and the unforgettable rehearsal dinner confection. I'm debating whether or not to share the site with my girlfriends... we may have to start a dress co-op.

In this industry it's easy to get wooed by the sparkly, the sweet and the visually intoxicating. I will be candid; in my nearly twenty years in the industry, I've been guilty of it. At a certain point, however, you recognize the value of a quality, perhaps even irreplaceable, event partner. A person who has integrity, who challenges you to be stronger and better, and who you genuinely respect as a person and a professional.

I have been blessed with some amazing event partners in my ten years as a business owner. As time goes by, I appreciate these special individuals so much. Those who embrace the challenge that the logistics of a wedding can present, or maybe a partner who is privy to personal details of a couple's life, and with whom you can work with to create a seamless process, and unforgettable day. Life is sometimes surprising, and sometimes cruel... these partnerships are priceless.

At the beginning and end of each day we are all just men and women. The titles, the exposure, and the accolades are meaningless. For this year's Military Dream Wedding couple, we wanted something fabulously fun for their crazy guests! We had the great fortune of meeting Joey & Kasey, of Olive Productions, shortly before the wedding. Joey, a self-proclaimed tech nerd, created a custom photo booth that uses fashion lighting, a 27" Mac and a digital SLR is a ball to play in! They come with props, and man the booth to assist with any 'technical' issues ( keeping people reigned in mostly :) and have the quickest turn time on the images... which were posted later that night on their blog! They are a talented pair, these two. We look forward to many, many more events with Olive Productions!

The Custom Clutch... Oatmeal Lace Designs

I'm a girl who loves accessories. Shoes. Hats. Scarves... and the beloved Handbag. I also love a good referral! So, when one of my clients told me about her co-worker's wife who decided to make custom bags for her bridesmaids (and then turn it into a very lucrative business)... I had to call.

McKay Pittman is one talented lady. While planning her own wedding, she chose to create fabulous little custom handbags for her bridal party. Like most savvy brides, she knew that her combination of raw talent and a little moxie could go a long way. McKay's tenacity took her a little further than most! She now runs Oatmeal Lace Designs, creating fun and flirty little clutches for other brides. Every bag is a unique design, her fabric choices are based on the client's personality and color selections, and the turn time is quick. The New RSVP... to mail or not to mail?

This year we've implemented a lot of changes. Our office has gone green! We aren't using paper the way we have for the past eight years, and have chosen to go with online folders, binders and a shared file system. It's worked great for us, and are pretty happy with the impact it's making.

We've been using recycled papers, 100% cotton papers, and other green elements for a few years now in our wedding papers as well. This year we've had a few couples use online invitation systems, and the majority of our clients chose to have people RSVP via similar systems. Being a traditionalist, this was a tough choice for me to swallow, and I was very concerned about the success ratio. What a surprise this was for me! In the four weddings that we used this system with, we actually had a greater ratio of return than we do with paper response cards/sets!

So, as a wedding professional, I've decided that the only thing harder than planning your own wedding is planning your COO's wedding. The question is always "How do you choose?!". The options are not only limitless, but with ten years of relationships, it's hard to choose from the pool of exceptional professionals we know.

When Sara & Cory were ready to do their engagement photos, I knew we needed to use someone local (their wedding is in a super secret destination, with a top secret wedding photog). I also knew that they wanted a foil to their wedding day. Something that represents the great city where they met, and someone who could capture not only their city vibe, but their incredible love for each other.

are the recipients of this year's Military Dream Wedding!

I am so proud to work with these two this year to create their dream wedding! Their wedding will be held at the gorgeous Lowndes Grove in beautiful and historic Charleston, South Carolina this November. Their first planning trip is this weekend and I cannot wait to meet Amy and Michael!

Amy and Michael's story is heartwarming, courageous and I am honored that they chose to share it with us. As this month unfolds, you will learn their entire story, but here's the beginning, and a few shots of this beautiful pair.

"As we look back Mike and I realize now, more than ever, the love we hold for one another. It all began in January 2004 as we prepared for our upcoming deployment to Iraq. Mike and I were both Military Police soldiers assigned to the same company in Germany. I had seen him many times before as we lived on the same floor in the barracks, but we had never met. Faced with an upcoming deployment the idea of starting a new relationship was the last thought on my mind. It wasn’t until one fateful day that we were both assigned to complete a special mission in Belgium together when we officially met. The next three days felt more like the most amazing first date than preparation for our upcoming deployment. We told story after story of our lives up to that point. We learned of our common interests, goals and surprisingly enough, our shared home state of Maryland. For the next six weeks we were inseparable, enjoying every precious moment together before entering the unknown of combat."

"In March 2004 we arrived in Baghdad. The first few months in Iraq were the very worst, fighting everyday and sadly losing friends. One day our company had a mandatory meeting. While waiting for it to begin, one squad was told to immediately get their equipment; fellow military police soldiers had been attacked and needed help. Mike looked around and instantly realized that my squad and I were missing. Thinking the worst, he jumped into a leaving HMMWV. He didn't know if I had been hurt, but knew he needed to do whatever it took; he went into harm’s way to save me. Fortunately, we had not been under attack, simply running late. Yet, it was in that moment he became my hero and I knew his love for me was real. Since we couldn’t exactly spend time together as a ‘normal’ couple, the next year was spent writing letters to each other. Our grandfathers had once sent love letters home from WWII and these were our versions, except they never left the combat zone. Sixteen months later and back in the U.S., Mike proposed to me during a quiet picnic lunch while simply enjoying each other's company. It was nothing fancy, just the two of us in a magical moment all of our own. I couldn’t have been happier knowing that we were to spend the rest of our lives together. He is my one true love, a modern knight in shining armor…a soldier in combat boots; a girl couldn’t ask for more." ~ Amy Burns

Mon amour de Valentine's Day!

I agree with so many of my contemporaries today... you either love Valentine's Day, or you don't. I love it. I am in the business of assisting those couples who can't take their eyes off each other. You know them... they finish each other's sentences, laugh at the same things, smile for no reason just being near their partner... the couples who are meant to be. I also love the promise of the day.... a reason to do nothing but be together, or to make it a full fledged lovefest.

And, in the spirit of our hysterical and beautiful couple who tied the knot this evening, I thought I would share a few of the inspiration pieces that guided us the past three days. Yes; we planned their wedding in three days. That, well that is another blog entirely. Enjoy!

Delicious Candied Apples!

This fall we will be using a very interactive and fun 'favor station'... hand rolled candied apples. Each guest will have the chance to create their perfect candied apple. A table lined with glass jars full of crushed peanuts, m&ms, chocolate chips, fun sprinkles, coconut and more; warm caramel, white chocolate sauce and chocolate fudge simmering, waiting for the dunking. Along side warm apple cider and Mexican hot chocolate, this is a clever late night dessert station as well. They can be eaten immediately or wrapped and taken home as a fun memory of the recent event. Enjoy!

Ask anyone, and they will tell you that I am all about the gown. If I could, I would wear a fabulous dress every day. Frilly, sleek, bouncy, or simple elegance... I love them all. The Great Destination Wedding!

Once upon a time, a Destination Wedding was a luxury enjoyed only by the rich and famous. The image of a stunning bride on the grounds of a European Villa gracing the glossy cover of Martha Stewart Weddings or Grace Ormonde Wedding Style left us all wanting their life, if only for a few days. Today, however, the opportunity for any couple to plan their dream wedding in a location other than their home exists in spades.

I am often asked, “How do you plan a wedding remotely?” As a rule, I always visit the location shortly after it’s been chosen. Once a couple has chosen their perfect spot, we determine whether or not a traditional venue is a wise choice, such as a hotel or resort. If traditional does not work for a client, we go outside the box. Having planned weddings in the middle of fields, abandoned barns, quiet and untouched islands, outside the box can be fun, wildly successful and so exciting! Once the venue has been chosen, we set about to locate our vendors. Modern technology is the best friend to any resourceful wedding planner. Through email, internet research and a few good old fashion phone calls, all of a client’s needs can be met.

Another question that is a constant is, “How do you find the right people to work with and how do I know the pricing is fair?” This is the test of even the best wedding planner. As you may imagine, some destinations offer more variety (and therefore competitive pricing) than others. If you are choosing a more traditional venue, in additional to the resources your wedding planner will have, the on site event coordinator is going to have a bevy of credible, local vendors that you can choose from. Should you choose to forgo the traditional and venture to the unique options, the sky is the limit. So many fabulous options are mobile, and can either be shipped to your location or brought in with you. Imagine a regionally authentic, custom menu to offer your guests, and the local musicians offering their hometown flair. And when in doubt, bring your own team! The remaining, and often primary, question I get is “How can I ask my family and friends to travel?” Unless you still live in your hometown, and all of your family and friends live there as well, your friends and family will be traveling. So, the question is, are your guests traveling to Kansas City or the Dominican Republic to share your wedding?

Enjoy the opportunities at your fingertips. One of the first things I tell a couple when the planning process begins is to dream big. And, more often than not, your $50,000 budget can serve you just as well in Hawaii as it can at home. Key factors in planning a successful destination wedding include time of year, location, guest count and vision. Dream big, and ask your self “why not?”!

In my many years of wedding planning the most popular question is “Who pays for what?” Typically the bride’s family pays for the bulk of the wedding expenses. I remember my father’s reaction when my planning my sister’s wedding, it was much like Stanley Banks in the movie “Father of the Bride”. The financial pain and planning of a wedding can often be a major challenge and it doesn’t help that the groom’s family got off easy by only having to pay for the rehearsal dinner.

These days more and more brides and grooms are on the career fast track and have decided to marry later. They often share the expense with family or they pick up the tab for the entire wedding. Another option is to split the cost in thirds. The grooms family, the bride’s family and the lucky couple. But, just in case you’re uncertain as to what traditional etiquette calls for here’s a little refresher.

Expenses for the Bride and Family

Invitations will set the tone and style of your wedding. Will it be a formal wedding or an informal wedding? Is there a theme? There are a number of spelling and wording standards that apply to all parts of the invitation.

First, let’s talk about some Do’s and Don’ts...

· Proper names and titles are capitalized

· Numbers in the date are spelled out ( Example: Saturday, the first of June)

· The time is spelled out and written to describe the hands on the clock (Example: Half past one or half after one ( not 1:30)

· Stay away from abbreviations. Always spell out words such as street, lane, road, months, days of the week, etc…

· Spell out contractions ( Example: do not instead of don’t)

· Capital letters are treated at the beginning of sentences as you would read them and not to be used at the beginning of every line

· No punctuation is used except after titles such as Mr. and Dr.

Okay so now you have a general idea. But how do you word the invitation?

Okay so this is the hard part, how do you address the “No Children” situation? Referring back to my sister’s wedding, we ran into this problem and I remember how hard it was to navigate the situation. Sometimes there’s no way to avoid hurt feelings.

On a formal reception card I suggest noting “Adults Only Reception”. More informally, you may want to spread the word especially if you have a wedding website. Those are perfect! That will create less chaos. Just remember it’s your wedding day and you have the right to be happy!

The big tease!

So, sometimes in life and work, the stars align and everything happens as it should. Most who are reading this know the genesis of this wedding by now, and the story that goes with it. What you don't know is that when I thought of the photographer I wanted, I really thought it was a long shot. Not because she wouldn't be interested, but because she pretty much rules the universe of wedding photography and has a crazy schedule. I asked her 8 weeks in advance. The stars aligned and I was able to bring in the best of the best.

Sara France is not only one of the most extraordinary photographers I have ever had the pleasure of working with, but she is one hell of a woman. When I told her what I was doing, she didn't say "let me think about it" or "what a sweet idea". She said, "when, where and may I shoot this for you?" She flew in from sunny and warm San Diego to a blizzard, and went with it when I changed venue at midnight the night before the wedding. Sara came ready to capture every single detail, every hug between family, every laugh between friends. And she did. The photos will be released later this week, but here's a shot that I feel captures not only the beauty of the day, but the absolute joy that this couple shares. In one shot, Sara was able to capture what I knew of the couple when I read their entry to the contest.

Military Dream Wedding, the sneak peek...

When all of the contributors were being pooled for this year's Military Dream Wedding Giveaway, I considered a few videographers for the wedding, but it was so last minute, and anyone who knows video understands what a huge investment of time this donation would be. The few I spoke with were not available at the last minute in any case. So, I went on planning Kendra & Curtis's wedding and didn't give it another thought.

And then, literally days before the wedding, the amazing Eric Calder of DV Production Company, based in Florence, South Carolina, sent me a Facebook message. I thought he was kidding at first, but no, he wasn't. This darling man stepped in and said "I am there". So, I scrambled. We had some very generous donations made to make it possible to get him here without hefty out of pocket expenses. The Gidding Family and Freeman Family were our angels! When I speak of the generosity that created this wedding, it truly goes beyond the surface items that everyone expects.

Eric created a beautiful video for Kendra & Curtis, captured so many of the weekend's events and the precious moments that can never be replicated, but will be enjoyed by everyone for years to come. MIlitary Dream Wedding 2009

This past Sunday I had the sheer joy of watching two beautiful people deliver their vows to each other, in front of their friends, new and old, and family. This couple is special, as was the wedding.

Ten short weeks ago I chose to create this Military Dream Wedding. The rules for the contest were simple; the couple must be active duty, have either recently returned from the Middle East or have deployment orders to the region, must be currently engaged. I requested they send us their story. Twenty seven couples entered, from coast to coast, and a panel of 9 chose the winning couple; they won unanimously.

Kendra and Curtis are marvelous people. It was evident from their story that service is the baseline of their lives, as individuals and as a couple. As I grew to know them, I felt more and more honored to be working with them. But I have to tell you, after spending the weekend with them, among their friends and family, I feel so blessed to call them friends. Their family and friends adore and admire them. They are the American Dream in action; ambitious, hard working, generous, kind, salt of the earth. Kendra and Curtis will live their lives in service to their country, Curtis as a United States Marine and Kendra, a Marine Corps wife and advocate for military families.

At the onset of this event, I set out to find a couple that would represent the criteria well. Now, as I wrap up the wedding that took place on November 15th, I pray that I created a wedding that represented Kendra and Curtis and all they stand for. I look forward to making this an annual event that each winning couple will be proud of, and that each contributor will embrace with as much heart and soul as they did this year.

When we chose our couple for our annual Military Dream Wedding giveaway, we had in place some of the country's top vendors. Each have been just as excited and honored to be a part of this couple's big day as we are, and each has been exceptionally generous in their role(s) and contribution(s).

Kendra and her mother, Wendy, traveled to Denver two weeks ago for a frenetic 48 hours of planning, meetings, and tours. We had a ball, but it was exhausting! I recently learned that a former bride had started her own business. Heather England has over a decade of experience as an esthetician, and has recently reopened her doors! I went to check her out a few weeks ago and was blown away! Heather is the consummate professional. My 55 minute facial was tantamount to a 90 minute massage. I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing (but I talk too much). 2009 Military Wedding Giveaway!

About a month ago we had to cancel one of our weddings. The couple, Holly & James had to relocate and could no longer host their Colorado wedding. Through a series of life's challenges, it was an unfortunate situation that needed to be made happier. When we discovered that they would lose the venue time outright, I suggested that we do something good with it instead of chalking it to a complete loss. 24 Hours later, I had the makings of a Dream Wedding. After a few calls to a handful of my industry partners, it occurred to me that this was meant to be for a very deserving couple, and my mind went straight to the military. With a background rich in military connections, I know first hand the sacrifices these men and women, and their families, make daily. We set out to find a great couple, and the criteria was simple. They had to be active duty military, and had to have either recently returned from deployment or have current orders to deploy. Hotels, Resorts and the definition of service.

In our business, and specific to our firm, we refer and book restaurants, hotels and resorts all over the world for our couple's wedding, honeymoon and other travel needs. We pride ourselves in knowing the best places for each couple, presenting them with options that reflect their style, preferences, desires, etc. I am very happy to say that 99% of the time we hit the nail on the head.

That being said, I have found a ridiculous amount of poor service in the past 6 months. It started at my beloved Walt Disney World last November. I took my family for Thanksgiving, for a few days in the sun with my extended family. Now, the grounds were stunning as usual, the shows amazing, the fireworks second to none (except maybe Tom and Katie's wedding). When we attempted to make dinner reservations at a restaurant in France (Epcot for you non-Disneyesquers), we were laughed at for our short notice. As a former Cast Member, I was beyond disappointed in the service we received in numerous places... parks, restaurants, pool(s), etc. Lack of interest in solving issues, poor knowledge of the parks and Disney history (yes, I always test them), and poor appearance standards left a bad taste in my mouth.

In late January, I was invited to visit (test drive) one of Colorado's 'finest' mountain resorts. It was the most miserable 56 hours of my year thus far. We arrived to a less than favorable check in and room service that bordered on offensive. When I approached the F&B Manager the following morning, we were invited to dine in the restaurant that evening as their guests, to make up for the offensive rooms service. That afternoon, while using the spa, we were subjected to rude technicians, poor service upon leaving and paying (they chided us for paying in cash, and made us wait for 25 minutes to make change for $100) and I had the fastest (35 minutes) 'Ultimate Pedicure' of my life. That evening, in the restaurant, our order was taken incorrectly, delivered incorrectly, the food was average at best, and neither the MOD or the Chef came to our table when we asked (4 times). We were never refunded for our room service charges.

In March we traveled to Charleston, SC for Fashion Week. Our first two nights were spent in a lovely harbor front resort. The aesthetics were beautiful. My children were so excited to be at the beach, and having a pool at their disposal for two days! We arrived to an empty pool, having been emptied the day prior so that they could repaint it. No notice was given, no mention made upon check in, etc. When I addressed the issue with the Reservations Manager, she offered to by us dinner as an apology. (Not really the best fix for the kids, but an attempt). So, we ordered dinner. Three kids, one adult... $130... for two mini pizzas, a salad, a sandwich and a steak. When I called room service later to order dessert, I asked that the bill be brought to me, as I didn't want that to be added. Ten minutes later, I get a call from said Reservations Manager, yelling at me (yes, yelling) and asking if my plan was to "order food all evening". I later called the GM's direct line and left a message. Upon check out, I left another message. Two and a half months later, I still have not received a return call. The icing on the cake? They charged my cc on file for the dinner and the dessert.

These are three examples. At two recent stays at Ritz Carlton Resorts I have found surcharges for safes, wireless services, etc. Where has the service gone? In an economic climate that has resorts fighting for business, you would think that more companies would go out of their way to provide top notch service to each guest. Companies such as Ritz Carlton, Disney Resorts, One and Only, Four Seasons, and others in this family of exclusivity, should really be setting the pace for everyone else, not nickel and diming their guests for little things that should be included in the $580 per night room charge. Instead, I think that service training has gone the way of the 401k, and it makes me sad, embarrassed and frustrated, as a business owner and as a frequent traveler.

We... the traveler, the diner, the purchaser of goods, the companies that refer your business... we deserve better service! I expect people to provide what they say they will provide, and then go the extra step to make the experience memorable. As a service and/or hospitality provider, it is your duty to go above and beyond. Do it better, and do it because it brings you joy to put a smile on our faces, because I assure you, if you don't, we will find others who will.

We were very excited to preview the Fall Season gown, and were blown away with the innovative designs by Jodi Moylan, owner of White Pure Couture on Daniel Island. So, I recently perused the "Weddings for Dummies" Guide... hilarious actually, but there is a great little excerpt I want to share with anyone out there questioning whether or not it's a luxury or a necessity to hire a Wedding Producer/Planner/Designer/Consultant...

"...You may want to consider hiring a planner if:

You can't spare at least 12 hours per week to do the job yourself - and twice that much time as the wedding date draws near. (It takes an average of 750 hours to plan and execute a wedding, from start to finish.)
You want to invite more than 100 guests.
You're holding the wedding in a home, garden, loft, museum, or other location that isn't a full-service venue. (And, we would argue that 99% of the venues that say they are full-service are NOT.)
You're planning a destination wedding."

The best time hire a Wedding Planner is at the beginning of the process. A tried and true way to find a reputable planner is to ask other suppliers such as caterers, florists, and photographers. Online listings at site such as Brides.com, TheKnot.com, and WeddingChannel.com are also a way to find a planner that may fit your needs.

We recommend interviewing three to four planners. We also recommend that you not meet with anyone who does not offer a complimentary initial consultation. This should be an opportunity for you to discuss your needs, your vision and their qualifications, availability, definition of service, and inclusions. You don't have to pay to go shopping for jeans; you should not have to pay anyone to learn about their services.

We work with Brides. It's what we do. We strive to work with couples that we hit it off with, that we find fun and enjoyable. Given that we spend an average of 15 months with our clients, it's important to us that our clients enjoy us, and that we enjoy our clients. Afterall, when you set up your own business, hire amazing people to work for you and love what you do, it should be fun! How can we creat a stress free environment for our clients if we are stressed out?

Over the past seven years we have met some phenomenal people. We have made friends, met great professionals and become part of a lot of new families. We get Christmas cards, baby announcements and photos from anniversary parties and trips, from couples that we have planned and designed for. It's one of the singular most rewarding parts of our business. Relationships.

These two are hilarious. Beautiful, fun loving, hard working, always smiling... we got lucky with these two. Melissa impressed me from the start, ready to dive into the planning process, very organized and she had a clear vision of their wedding day. She hired us four weeks after getting engaged, and to date has chosen the venue, her gown, the invitations, caterer and baker. She is a dream to work with. Justin's only provision is that Melissa is happy (love him!). Her mother, Helene is a doll... tons of fun, wants this to be all about Melissa and Justin, and only cares that her daughter's every wish is granted. I keep waiting for the evil party in this family to pop out of a box, but not one is to be found!
